Grace Mather

Grace Mather is the Social Media Chair for Shenandoah Valley Pride, bringing a strong background in digital communications, event promotion, and community storytelling. Born and raised in Harrisonburg, Grace grew up immersed in the performing arts, where early experiences (including performing with her dance class at a local Miss Gay Harrisonburg pageant) introduced her to the art of drag and the importance of allyship. That moment sparked a lasting appreciation for the creativity, resilience, and community within LGBTQ+ spaces.

Grace later studied Communication with minors in Film & Media Studies and Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN and then gained professional experience from various marketing and event planning roles. After returning home to the Shenandoah Valley, she connected with Rhinestone Productions, where she supported marketing and event promotion efforts that deepened her involvement in the local LGBTQ+ community. In 2025, she assisted with planning and promoting Shenandoah Valley Pride Fest and later accepted a board position.

Beyond her work with the board, Grace is the Marketing & Event Coordinator for Love Ridge Mountain Lodging, and manages a small homestead with her partner. With a passion for inclusive storytelling, thoughtful design, and community-centered communication, Grace is honored to serve as an ally and help amplify voices, celebrate identity, and foster connection throughout the Shenandoah Valley.
